I didn't really get into Thrice until the Alchemy Index v.1 & 2.
But, they are pretty awesome.
Also, if you like thrash and/or speed metal, check out Exciter. They are pretty much the founders of speed metal.

Riles was definitely a cool, quiet guy . . . probably wouldn't know me from adam if we talked again today:)
Anthrax will rock this summer (I believe) and it will be a good chance to see them even though it is without JB.
Also, if you haven't had a chance to check out the new Alice in Chains they have a new free song for you to download if you visit their site.

That's awesome! Yeah I've seen in interviews that he used to play college ball. Whenever I've talked to them, the whole band just seemed like a bunch of good guys; I can't praise the band enough.
And I wish I was living in the 80's just so I could see the thrash gods in action =D (Thrash's prime period in my opinion).
Anthrax is a great choice, although I fall into the Bush camp (loved the newer albums after Stomp and such). Belladonna is/was great too. Can't wait to hear the new stuff.
Thrice is great too, local band for me, and I actually played ball with the drummer for a year or two in college. He was pretty good and always was talking drums and Sepultura:) It's good to see he made it!
