why do you like dredg?
knowing damn well that I could probably find a thread JUST LIKE this if I spent some time searching... I thought I'd pose the question again... (sorry for the repeat)
why do you love dredg... what does it for you... ???
I think I can speak for many.. when I say we can't just narrow it down to one thing... but let me give birth to this thread by listing a few that do it for me. Anything goes... please be respectful to others opinions..
- The different types of sound... Eating an apple, typewriter, easy button, megaphones, brushstrokes on a canvas, saxophone, slide guitar, rainstick, pianos, keyboards... the list goes on and on!! The way that this band incorporates these different sounds into their music blows me away. They take your typical band... and then go 5 steps above that!
- The concepts presented in the music... mainstream bands often sing about broken homes... broken hearts.. drugs.. police.. etc .. and not to say that dredg hasn't or ever will... but they bring different feelings, thoughts and emotions to the table with every cd they release... after really pulling apart the lyrics to a song you can almost understand the members of the band better.. the outlook they have on life etc.
- Live shows are amazing.. they never fail to amaze me... the guests they bring out on stage.. the set lists... stage set up...
- The Album artwork... how many bands do you know that create not only art in the form of music.. but amazing paintings to express even deeper.. the songs they sing
-Not to mention.. many of us have met the band.. or have run into them at a show.. they are genuinely good people that mean well. They love their fans... and prove that by continually providing amazing new sounds.. treasure hunts... art work... talking on boards like traversing.. addingu us to networking websites such as myspace / facebook etc.
That is all.. I hope this sparks a good thread.. I'm very curious to hear what does it for you..
Sorry I had to rush this a little... people at work frown on my addiction to dredg.com... damn them (forgive spelling errors..)

Cuz Gavin is the sugar to my coffee, Drew makes me laugh, Dino is the Donny Wahlbreg of the group, and Mark is just the man.

I agree, and I agree...
last time i drank with the guys was back stage at the cafe de noir in SF... you'd think that right before a show it would be kinda melo... maybe going over a set list... nope.. beers / shots.. screwing around.. and the venue provided like a FRIDG FULL of beer! Couple bottles of Vodka! hahaa I was in heaven. Time before that was at a show in Canada.. the played right after this georgeous violin player. And after we just drank and basically talked about her Half of a Dress.. haha
They are very down to earth.. Love the Music.. Love the Guys.. Love the band!
amazing

its great baby making music!! haha
but seriously its just the different aspects and growth of each album.
The fact that they have no fear to try something different and fly with it.
The have some of the best live shows and are some of the most down
to earth guys I have ever met. Also Drew and Mark are fun drinking
buddies as well
