That's a great interview! It really puts things in perspective for Dredg fans I think, and it makes me even more excited for the new album and the tour. I'm still wary of how exactly it'll come across to me at first, but I'm really ready to dig into it.

I agree so far, from Youtube I can only find "The Tent", "The Thought of Losing You", "Upon Returning", and "Another Tribe". If anyone knows where I can listen to other songs in full, let us all know! I can't stop listening to what is available right now, especially Another Tribe, which is my favorite so far. Also you can find a live version of "Where I'll End Up" another great song too.
At first listen and impression of "The Thought of Losing You" I was indifferent but like PPD, every subsequent listen, my opinion changed and it became a fitting piece in the Dredg catalog. So I expect Chuckles and Mr. Squeezy to follow suit. -

"Kalathat" is definitely my favorite song as of now. I must listen more thoroughly before forming a greater, more informed opinion.

It is a very different album indeed, but it still has that dredg feel to it. My wifes favorites so far are "The Tent" and "Going Down Without a Fight"

"Somebody is laughing" is pretty gnarly too! It has the same message as PPD. I loved the influence of Salman Rushdie on that album.

the tent may be my least favorite song dredg has ever written, but the ornament may be my favorite. This is definitely a different album, very different than any thing they have ever done before. I can't really decide how I feel about it. I don't mind the new style their going for, I dig it, I just don't know if I like the melodies of a lot of the songs. I don't usually have to press "next track" when i listen to a dredg album, but ive found myself doing it a couple times with this one. to each his own i guess

Logan, I take it you're not a big fan of Radiohead. That's what "The Tent" reminded me of, the lyrics are awesome! The music is very different and nothing like what they've done before, definitely not a high energy or complex album. Still amazing though, Gavin lets his vocal soar on some of the tracks.

Right now I am listening to the new album for about 1 Week in a good quality and to be honest, up to this moment it rather disappoints me than convinces me.
It is obvious that Dredg has changed its production. This ist ok. Catch without arms was the total best production and the following Album Pariah was allready a new makeup, but still great!!
But Chuckles and Mr. Squeezy sounds lazy much too soft and too offsided.
Indeed there are 2-3 Songs which are ok to listen to . e.g. "The Ornament", because of reminding me of Catch without arms or Upon Returnin, because it is the most lively song on the new album.
Some might say that I am not able to understand Dredg's music but I can.
I visited 4 concerts, have got all productions and actually it is my favorite band.
Oh well... . Hope they play live as good as usually and do not too much promotion for the new album.... -

I say to all who complain about this album and all other albums that dredg may (or may not) release; quit dwelling on the past, change is required to progress through life. Would anyone be truly happy to go through the same day over and over again (Groundhog Day) with nothing new every happening? Are you too scared and weak to allow change to occur? Take Chuckles and Mr. Squeezy for what it is, something new - CHANGE!

I dunno, but I'm digging the new stuff, despite the fact that I'm a bit disappointed that Dino & Mark didn't get enough play. :(

I LOVE "Before it began"...lyrics seem very sad but the instrumentation goves a sort of Tribal feel, which is sooooo Dredg!

Man, I really don't think that it's an issue of not handling change. The vibe I'm getting from the people that aren't into the album as much is personal taste and opinion. I think if dredg is one of your favorite bands, you're not going to be thrown by change too much. This just happens to be a change that some people simply don't like as much. Not trying to jump down your throat, but your response seemed pretty critical of other people's opinions.

I can not stop coming to this site and writing how I feel about these new songs. Every listen builds on the previous one in terms of like-ability and satisfaction. I like PPD but Chuckles already has a different meaning to me as a Dredg fan, which is comparable to how I felt listening to Catch Without Arms the first couple times. "Another Tribe" has not left my head...Thank you Dredg, can't wait til Baltimore!

Personally the new album has me feeling warm and fuzzy. To me all the songs are awesome. I have yet to press the skip button, but only to replay the last song. This album to me seems like something dredg had to do. they as artist have many mediums and ideas that are expressed in many forms, not just a guitar heavy rock album like CWA. This album is a breath of fresh air that I believe is necessary not only to dredg but their fans.

Hey man, I respect all opinions. But when people are saying that a band has "lost their sound" or "need to go back to their roots." This is what I am saying; a band comes out with albums and if they're a group of talented artists, then no new piece of work should sound like previous works. If someone wants to hear the same thing over and over again, then he or she should listen to the same album over and over again. If they want something new, they should listen to a different or newer album. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, I agree to that statement.

The Band and also the listeners experience developments in Style, Attitude, Taste and so on continually.
And it's quite simply, if they don't fit together anymore, you have to search for alternatives or stay on older tracks.
For my ponit of view Chuckles and Mr. Squeezy is an disappointment and I prefer CWA.
It's the same thing like Blink 182.
4-5 Years ago this band was my total favorite one. At the present time I hate their vocals.... -
