    Others:

    DeVotchKa
Mew (like dredg in that they can make poppy music very intricate and trippy as hell)
Dub Trio (almost entirely instrumental, Mike Patton sings on a couple of songs)
    Pretty Girls Make Graves

My picks had already been said. Not the same, but the similar.

    Oceansize ( http://www.myspace.com/oceansizeuk )
    Day One Symphony ( http://www.myspace.com/dayonesymphony )

Especially for the first listening of dredg's Down To The Cellar made me feel like I'm on with Oceansize.

But I must say that no other bands sound like dredg.

No bands sound like dredg, but people that like dredg might like these bands:

Pink Floyd, A Perfect Circle, Oceansize, Porcupine Tree, Radiohead, Incubus, Muse, etc.

Also there is a stellar new band from Seattle called Riot In Stereo that has a unique sound that blends some elements from bands like Rage Against the Machine, Jimi Hendrix, and Tool. Check out their myspace at www.myspace.com/starkravingcalm. You won't be disappointed. Let me know what you think.

I perfectly agree with you. These bands have their own different touches in my life. I also have a weakness about Seattle, so I'm taking a look at the band right now.

    -doves
    -silversun pickups
    -foals

yeah I love silversun. they have an awesome style. there is a band called the aps affinity I think and they sound a lot like dredg did in their leitmotif days. im not really a fan of them but their voice even sounds a lot like Gavin.

theyre not similar to dredg but I'm a huge fan of VAST. they are very different but very creative.

i'm gonna have to check some of these bands out.. aforementioned the mercury program and circa survive are two of my favorites. my buddy and i saw circa when they opened for thursday and rise against and immediately looked at each other with the same thought: have we found another dredg? it probably helped that we were high.. the thick and soothing guitar riffs and other aspects seem to play on that

The Butterfly Effect is one of the best suggestions I've seen here so far. Has a similar feel to it. I personally love Leitmotif far above anything else from dredg. You might want to check out Moving Atlas too. They're also similar.
